LEAH KAPLAN

Leah Kaplan is an American artist whose practice explores line, movement, and light through handbuilt porcelain vessels and sculptures.

Her fluid, textural forms draw on a lifelong passion for textiles and basketry, as well as the organic structures of nests and shells. Throughout her nearly forty-year career, Leah Kaplan has reinvigorated ancient pottery techniques. She works with coiling, pinching, and slab-building to create contemporary pieces that remain deeply rooted in materiality. Her work has been presented in exhibitions across the United States and internationally, including Homo Faber in Venice, the Malta Society of Arts and Onna Soho in New York.

Kaplan’s pieces are also held in corporate and private collections.
